Patong
Phuket's nightlife and entertainment capital — Bangla Road, shopping and bars right outside your hotel door. Built for energy, not for quiet.
Kata
One of the best first-Phuket choices — a genuinely good beach, a walkable town, and restaurants at every price point, with just enough nightlife.
Karon
A long, open beach right next to Patong, with far more space to breathe — an easy, no-fuss choice for families, couples and first-time visitors.
Bang Tao
Phuket's upscale resort hub, built around the Laguna lagoon complex — beach clubs, fine dining and 5-star hotels for travelers who want a polished, longer stay.
Kamala
A relaxed beach town right next to Patong — the same convenient location and easy access to beach clubs and dining, without the noise.
Rawai & Nai Harn
Two connected areas at Phuket's southern tip: Rawai for local seafood, the pier and island-hopping boats; Nai Harn for one of the island's most beautiful beaches and sunsets.
Phuket Town
The island's cultural heart — Sino-Portuguese architecture, cafés, markets and real local food. Not a beach base.
Surin
One of Phuket's most beautiful beaches, with a quieter, more elegant atmosphere than the island's bigger resort strips — a premium feel without the crowds.
Kata Noi
Kata's smaller, quieter neighbor — the same coastline, a five-minute walk away, with a noticeably calmer pace and far fewer people on the sand.
Nai Yang
A quiet, tree-shaded beach inside Sirinat National Park, a short drive from the airport — chosen for nature and calm, not nightlife.
Mai Khao
Phuket's longest, emptiest beach, right by the airport — famous for watching planes land just overhead, with a handful of quiet luxury resorts and almost nothing else.
Chalong
A practical base rather than a traditional beach holiday area — built around Muay Thai gyms, fitness and Chalong Pier.
Cape Panwa
A quiet peninsula on Phuket's southeast side, with upscale resorts, calm sea views and the island's aquarium — for travelers who came to relax, not go out.
Popular Phuket Experiences
A mix from across the island — book ahead, especially in high season.

Phi Phi Islands & Maya Bay
A full day out to Phi Phi's turquoise bays, with Maya Bay itself on the route.

Phuket's west coast covers most travel styles in a short stretch of coastline — from full-on nightlife to quiet luxury. Here's a quick starting point for where to stay in Phuket:
- Patong — nightlife & entertainment. The island's liveliest strip, built for bars, clubs and shopping.
- Kata / Karon — first-time visitors and easy beach stays. Relaxed and walkable, with a good beach close to restaurants and hotels.
- Bang Tao — luxury resorts, beach clubs and dining. Phuket's five-star belt, built around the Laguna complex.
- Rawai / Nai Harn — relaxed local feel, seafood and island trips. Local life and easy boat access, rather than a resort strip.
